Left it longer than I had hoped before a post but o well theres one here now so no worries. Had charity bridge drive thingy on Sunday - we raised £530 for the special care baby unit. Have to go there tomorrow to present cheque at 10am yuk! at least it'll mean I'm up so I can get on with my homework lol.

Not much has happened really - played some shockingly awful bridge and tried to avoid doing any work only I now realise that wasn't such a good idea and am chugging away at it. Not doing too badly actually, lab report is almost finished as long as the computer doesn't crash and lose it all again.

Went out with Ella and Ben on Saturday night was - interesting. Ella decided we should go to some random pub in the middle of nowhere. we took a wrong turning and after going round in a big circle for 20 minutes arrived back at Ben's house. We did eventually find the pub. After the pub we ended up back at mine watching monty python till 3am.

Riding today was a bit of a disaster as I now have a very sore arse :( Was on strawberry who is minute and has very little neck and even less brain. I'm really scared of him even though he's tiny cos he bolted with me the one time I've ridden him and then put in some huge bucks and I landed over the other side of the school. His saddle is tiny too - my arse hardly fits into it. Flat lesson wasn't too bad though I was struggling to keep up with the others cos they were on thoroughbreds and they're legs were twice as long as strawberries lol. He's got a gorgeous outline I'd love to have him he'd be a great pony for me. In the jumping lesson Katrina told me that he was a bit like Rolo and I needed to think like I was on him and did what I did to teach Rolo to jump. He cleared the warm up fence really nicely and I was the first to try the first fence - an upright. He ran out to the left almost knocking over the jump wing. We did it the 2nd time round as well Katrina was not happy. On the third time she moved the jump back so we had more of a run up and he took off really early and just lurched over it. I ended up about 3 foot above his neck and the saddle and got pulled back by the stirrups eventually landing with my arse on the back of the saddle - it really hurt. Becky was in hysterics and Katrina couldn't believe I'd stayed on. Lindsay couldn't believe how calm I was which was really weird. I mean I was practically on the floor anyway so even had I fallen off it wouldn;t have hurt that much lol. Katrina lowerd one side of it and he was fine over that. We then had to do a bounce only Strawberry didn't seem to have seen one before and just didn't have a clue so I just did the single jump and almost fell over the pole after it. He was improving though. I want to take him home - he's earnt a place alongside Rolo as one of my babies. He'd be a perfect pony for me though He's great at dressage and like me only wants to do small jumps. He's young too so maybe I can buy him when I finish uni.

Was supposed to have coaching with CheinFou yesterday but I was the only one who turned up so we just went to the Weekend IMPs and played boards instead. It was quite possibly the worst bridge I have ever played. At present we have played 44 boards and I am on a score of -50IMPs - not good. I think the worst bid I have ever made in my life is this. We were bidding a nice slam in spade and everythign was looking good, had used RKCB and found the number of aces and it was perfect. I then go and forget what my trump suit is and bid 6H! CF promptly bids 7S assuming I'm making some bizarre cue-bid and we go one off for -15 IMPs or something ridiculous. O well. I got my mini skirt, handbag and stilettoes confiscated for that one! It was good fun though as we were playing with some of the best characters in the club. Later (about 3am) there were two Essex Girls playing which made things even more lively lol.

Not done much today at all. Didn't get up till half twelve due to having been still playing bridge at 4am. Done a bit more on my lab report but not much. I never dreamed it would be this hard to write up an experiment. Hopefully it will get easier to do as I get more into it.

Am going out with Ella and Ben tonight. Can't remember where we're going but Ella says she'll direct me - we could end up anywhere! I have to drive so I can't drink either :( still, not long till I'm back in Durham again.

Too Much Work

Just started to do my lab report. I can't believe we have to write 5 whole pages. Its awful. My experiment went really badly so I'm going to get an awful mark because I dont have any sensible results to write up. 5 whole pages!! arghhhhhh. Nasty Nasty subject why did I choose one which involves sooooooo much work. Still have 7 hours in which to write this report, sure I'll get it done. Then can spend all of tomorrow doing problems sheets. What fun.

Got Open Office version 2 today. Its really good. Its got an ODBC database with a graphical interface for doing ADO connections!!! This'll make life sooo much easier looks like PIAFFE can get back on track again. Can't wait to get all this work done so i can have a play, but need to organise all my files neatly into my shared directory first so I can put them onto my new laptop neatly and quickly. I think I'll probably end up keeping this laptop as well but having it mainly as a backup and for doing graphicy stuff as my new laptp doesnt have a serial or a ps2 port and i cant get a PCMCIA card which has both so I cannot connnect my graphics tablet to my funky new computer :( I still can't believe I've managed to fill 40Gb of hard drive - how much junk is there on this thing. Still have twice as much room on new laptop so should be fine for a while.

Must get back to lab report, will write some more/find somethign more interesting to put on here when I've done the first section. I'll do a section then do a bit more to my blog. Think thats a good way of doing things. TTFN.

Consider Yourself at Home...

I got all the stuff for my Oliver! costume today. I look a complete prat! O well they're be lots of others all dressed as stupidly as me I suppose. Will have to take photo of it at some point.

The stupid f: drive thing on the network has lost the spreadsheet with all the data for my Lab report which means its now going to take ages as I have to start again from what's in my lab book - unless I scan in the graphs - now that's an idea! Why didn't I think of that before. Problem solved.

I went riding last night was on Marmite for both rides. There were 5 of us on the jumping lesson, Becky was on Rolo but she just couldn't get the timing right Katrina was getting really annoyed with her. Marmite was really hard work I had to shove him along the whole time. The new whip I got free at Olympia is absolutely useless it doesn't do anything it just bounces off their back and falls out of my hand. We did quite a big course of jumps including a double which Marmite found quite hard. Katrina said that it was the best she has seen me jump so I'm really pleased with that. I hope I get to ride Rolo soon though. I've booked him three times and each time I've been moved off of him yet he is in work because there's always a little kid on him in the lesson before me. It cant be that I'm too tall or heavy form him because Becky is bigger than me.

I did the defense quiz last night. I scored 53/60 which is much better than either Myles or Adam got. Shame that I didn't do it whilst it was the current one :( then I would have been higher up the leaderboard than they were. That would have been amusing. Hope I do as well in this bidding one though not sure I will.

Played a few hands with Tickles last night as we're both moving up to the U25's next year so will still have to play in the trials. We might form a partnership for them - hope we do as long as he doesn't play suicidally like he did last night. Have to admit it was quite good fun though, especially when we eventually made 6Hx LOL. He wasn't impressed that I bid that. We had loads of kibitzers including CF who seemed to find it all most amusing :S. Must remember to play sanely in coaching on Friday

Can't wait to get back to Uni next Sunday.
